Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in Australia in both men and women. At St Vincent’s Hospital Heart Health, we’re dedicated to helping our heart health patients live longer, fuller lives.
St Vincent’s Hospital Heart Health empowers patients through their cardiac journey before procedures, during their in-patient stay, and subsequent recovery period based on access to the latest and highest quality cardiac information and rehabilitation guidelines. While this website assists, informs and supports patients at all stages of their heart health journeys, it also provides helpful advice for their loved ones and carers.
The purpose of St Vincent’s Hospital Heart Health is to provide education and support for all cardiac patients including the poor, socially isolated and the marginalised and to assist patients that are unable to attend a traditional program.
Because the site is accessible at all times, it is a key resource for those who require information after hours as well as those who live in rural areas where medical support is limited. It also takes away the many reasons for non attendance at traditional cardiac rehabilitation programs and as a result may save many lives.
